Job description

This is a product management role that will be instrumental in further growing Hanson Wade's Data products business based on an understanding of market and client requirements.

Reporting to the Director of Product, this position is responsible for determining where and how to invest in specific features and functionalities across our portfolio to provide the best return on investment for Hanson Wade aligned to overall business and product strategies.

About the role:

The primary responsibility is to enrich our understanding of customer and market needs as they evolve and to develop and enhance our product offerings to meet those market problems. The Associate Product Manager will represent those needs in the form of product positioning, use cases, product features and high level product requirements with a view to identify and maximise the opportunities to grow revenue, drive penetration across key accounts and promote customer loyalty/satisfaction.

This role will work closely with key potential/current customers, customer-facing staff including Sales, Customer Success, other Product Managers and Producers, Research Operations and the Technical team to determine, prioritize and oversee implementation of product investments, including new features, functionalities and content. The Associate Product Manager will work with Sales & Marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, communicating the product positioning, key benefits and target customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of market challenges and related value propositions of portfolio offerings in line with Hanson Wade and Beacon's product strategy
  • Articulate the value prop and how it will evolve in the future
  • Develop strong customer relationships to identify new growth opportunities and collect product feedback
  • Establish new or leverage existing repeatable mechanisms with customers and customer-facing employees to understand market needs and validate hypotheses/assumptions
  • Be the Voice of the Customer in the product development process
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative product feedback to support development decisions
  • Predict, interpret and respond rapidly to market challenges/changes
  • Be accountable for the validation and launch of product enhancements and new modules
  • Work to tight commercial deadlines and sign-offs
  • Develop and maintain user personas, use cases, market insights and competitor intelligence
  • Maintain Beacon Product Roadmap in line with strategic guidelines
  • Manage the execution and delivery of product improvement works
  • Excellence in product lifecycle management
  • Produces detailed and accurate product specification
  • Identify, document and track market validation

About you:
  • 1-3 years of product management experience, ideally in the life sciences market intelligence industry
  • Understanding of key market intelligence needs of pharma drug development teams (e.g. Scientific leaders, R&D scientists, Clinical, Translational, External Innovation, Market / Competitive Intelligence etc.)
  • Previous experience of defining, developing and launching predictive analytical tools, metrics and visualisations for R&D portfolio risk in Life Sciences
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • High energy and driven with an ability to execute at speed
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present to large groups
  • Project management experience
  • A collaborative team player with excellent written and oral communication skills and a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams
