Job description

Role: Associate Practitioner Biomedical Scientist

Contract Length: 6 months

Location: Shrewsbury

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate to Intermediary: Up to £16.24 per hour

Spinwell is recruiting for an Associate Practitioner Biomedical Scientist for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of a diagnostic service. Understand, organise, and perform a range of diagnostic procedures, either supervised or unsupervised, that meet the training and qualifications of an Associate Practitioner.
  • Assist senior BMS staff with the supervision and training of Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLA) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT).
  • Work alongside the digital pathology section lead to ensure slides are scanned timely and of appropriate quality.
  • Ensure scanners operate efficiently and effectively.
Skills and Experience
  • Foundation degree in Health Sciences, BTEC National Diploma (Science), NVQ Level 3 (Laboratory Science), or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of biomedical procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality, Health and Safety, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good manual dexterity and accurate data entry skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build good working relationships, plan workload, work under pressure, and work independently.
