WE Talent is proud to be partnering with a people-focused, mid-sized pensions consultancy to recruit a Trainee Pensions Consultant as part of their continued growth and internal talent development.
This role is ideally suited to someone who has progressed within pensions administration and is now ready to transition into a client-facing consultancy role. You may already have experience supporting pensions projects or working with trustees, and you ll be looking to build on that foundation by learning from an experienced team in a supportive environment.
About the Role
As a Trainee Pensions Consultant, you will be mentored by senior consultants and gradually take on more responsibility for client and trustee support. Your duties will include:
Assisting with the preparation, attendance and follow-up of trustee and client meetings
Drafting and circulating meeting notes and action points
Coordinating meeting papers and communications
Liaising with internal teams and clients to ensure effective follow-through
Contributing to the drafting of trustee reports, newsletters, and member communications
Supporting a variety of pensions projects and consultancy activities
Shadowing senior consultants to gain deeper knowledge of the industry and client management
About You
This role would suit someone with experience as a Pensions Administrator or Senior Pensions Administrator, ideally with exposure to defined benefit schemes, third-party administration (TPA), trustee support, or pensions-related projects.
We re looking for someone who is:
Motivated and eager to develop into a consultancy role
A strong communicator, both verbal and written
Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities
Professional and confident when dealing with clients
Experienced in writing and drafting formal communications
You should be working towards or already hold a relevant pensions or financial qualification, such as:
PMI (Pensions Management Institute)
CII (Chartered Insurance Institute)
FCA-authorised advisory qualifications
Or equivalent pensions or consulting accreditations
