West London Children's Healthcare is excited to announce a 12-month fixed-term opportunity for an Associate Paediatric Practice Education Nurse within the Paediatrics department. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the education and training of our Paediatric nursing teams, playing a key part in enhancing patient care and promoting professional development. The position is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to improving patient care by supporting the education of nurses and healthcare assistants (HCAs).
As an Associate Paediatric Practice Education Nurse, you will be a Registered Children's Nurse with a degree and have either a Mentorship Certificate or have undertaken Student Assessor/Preceptorship training. You will be able to work clinically with teams at the ward or department level, bringing proven clinical expertise in one of our speciality areas paediatric high dependency, district general paediatrics, paediatric haematology/oncology, paediatric surgery, or paediatric burns.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to make a meaningful impact on the education and development of our Paediatric nursing teams, helping to shape the future of paediatric care at West London Children's Healthcare.
Your role will involve delivering and evaluating education in clinical practice, ensuring it meets the needs of the Paediatric nursing workforce. You will also work closely with the wider paediatric clinical education team to support the delivery of key training objectives.
As an expert practitioner and role model, you willbe responsible for developing a workforce capable of providing safe, high-quality care to our patients. This includes leading the delivery of "hot topics" training in response to the clinical needs of the units, as well as supporting the preceptorship of newly qualified nurses to help them transition to registered practitioners and gain essential competencies. In addition, you will deliver skills stations across paediatrics, enhancing the workforce's clinical skills and ensuring that our nursing teams are equipped to provide the best possible care.

Roles and responsibilities
To be an expert practitioner, demonstrating advanced communication and nursing skills, using expert knowledge and decision-making skills in childrens nursing.
To support and develop junior staff, HCAs and students working within the department.
To deliver nursing care to a high standard and be an effective role model.
To assist in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources.
To promote a progressive attitude to research and practice development in the continual improvement of patient care/services.
To deputise for the Paediatric Practice Educator on occasion with activities directly related to the ward.
To work alongside the Paediatric Practice Educator and Ward Managers to ensure the delivery of individualised programmes for induction and ongoing development of all staff in line with their Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
To support the ward team to ensure that staff can make maximum use of the full range of Trust-wide learning opportunities.
To uphold the Trust Values and to embed theses into the clinical practice of staff.
To support the implementation of a West London Childrens Healthcare wide nursing education strategy that links to the workforce strategy and the divisional strategic plan.
