About the role

We are seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Science and Research team in London. Candidates can be mechanically or electrically biased.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects ranging from speculative commercial laboratories to research facilities for higher education and institutional clients. You will join a collaborative team of engineers and consultants who value expertise, support, and flexibility.

The role involves three main areas: project leadership, team leadership, and business development. Developing leadership skills in these areas is a key part of our succession planning and offers further career growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the technical delivery of electrical or mechanical design services for multidisciplinary projects in the Science and Research sectors.
  • Developing initial project concepts that meet client needs and standards.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, attending meetings, and translating client briefs within the team.
  • Assisting in monitoring project budgets, resources, and deliverables.
  • Mentoring junior staff, including apprentices and graduates.

About you

We seek a leader with strong communication skills who can inspire and help drive our sector and office forward. You will contribute to strategic planning and foster a positive team culture.

As an experienced engineer, you will help manage the team and projects, leading by example and maintaining high standards of excellence.

You should have:

  • Experience with modern delivery processes and relevant software such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux.
  • Experience working with clients, contractors, and architects in a consultancy role.
  • Self-awareness, openness, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Experience supporting others' professional development.
