Value Apothecaries is seeking a Warehouse Operative - Loading Bay in Preston to join our busy distribution team. You will sort, load and dispatch customer orders, ensuring safety, accuracy and efficiency across the UK healthcare supply chain.

The role requires warehouse experience, good numeracy and literacy, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. We offer a competitive hourly rate (£13.07) and a supportive team in a leading healthcare organisation.

Summary of Role

Join our busy distribution team and play a vital role in ensuring essential healthcare products and potentially lifesaving medicines reach pharmacies, hospitals, and healthcare providers across the UK. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for accurately sorting, loading, and dispatching customer orders while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Accurately sort and allocate customer orders into the correct delivery routes.
• Unload and reload vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Transfer goods to the appropriate dispatch areas.
• Ensure orders are handled carefully and accurately at all times.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety in accordance with company procedures.
• Support the smooth and efficient operation of the service centre.
• Identify and report any issues relating to stock, routes, or processes.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as required.

Additional Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• Less than 2 years of experience in warehouse support, distribution operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related field required.
• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification preferred.
• Knowledge in warehouse operations processes, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
• Knowledge in inventory control principles, stock movement tracking, and material traceability requirements.
• Knowledge in temperature-controlled handling and cold chain support requirements for sensitive products and materials.
• Knowledge in packaging materials, reusable shipping assets, and replenishment practices within warehouse operations.
• Knowledge in shipment documentation, operational recordkeeping, and transaction processing requirements.
• Knowledge in safe material handling practices and the use of warehouse equipment and tools.
• Ability to follow established warehouse procedures and standardized work instructions.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and update operational information in warehouse systems and logs.
• Ability to identify inventory, packaging, shipment, and material handling exceptions for further action.
• Ability to support timely and accurate order preparation and material movement activities.
• Ability to manage multiple routine tasks across warehouse workflows while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to work with temperature-sensitive materials in line with defined handling requirements.
