Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Metastatic Breast Cancer Nurse Specialist to provide leadership, education and expert care to patients and their families. You will coordinate care across the pathway and drive service development to meet patient needs.

The role supports professional development toward Band 7; note that sponsorship is not available and this is a part-time, permanent post based in Southend. Applications from skilled candidates are welcome.

Qualifikationen

• Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC register.
• Two years post-registration mentoring, supervision, teaching and assessment experience.
• Desirable: Post registration qualification relevant to the specialism.
• Desirable: Mentor Preparation Programme or equivalent.

JOB SUMMARY - About the Role

• To act as a key worker for Metastatic Breast cancer patients.
• To provide clinical leadership and expertise in Metastatic Breast cancer by providing information, support, advice and specialist knowledge to patients, their families and carers, and to act as a resource to the multi-professional team.
• To participate in the co-ordination of patient care to ensure continuity throughout the patient's care pathway.
• To be pivotal in review and development of the service, and to reflect the needs of the patient group.
• To demonstrate wide and in-depth experience of all aspects of the Metastatic Breast cancer, exercising clinical leadership and effective education within their sphere of practice.
• To monitor and improve standards of care through clinical audit, leading the development of practice through research.
• Carry out clinical procedures (diagnostic and treatment based) within the remit of the specialist role.
