Are you an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer with a passion for low-energy and sustainable building solutions? Are you ready to step into a leadership role where you can drive projects to success and manage a talented team?

The business is a boutique building services consultancy based in London, renowned for their commitment to developing innovative, sustainable solutions for buildings in and around the city. As a trusted contractor partner, they work closely with their clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial design to practical completion.

Role Overview: As the Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, overseeing the mechanical engineering discipline across multiple projects. You will manage and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, energy-efficient, and sustainable building solutions. This role requires excellent communication skills to engage with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

·Lead mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through to practical completion.
·To be responsible for the welfare, job satisfaction and career development of team members.
·Management of the Engineering team, fostering their professional growth.
·To manage fees and resources in the team and to take responsibility for the successful delivery all projects in the team.
·Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
·To manage client relationships, ensure client requirements and aspirations are reflected in our designs, and ensure client satisfaction
·To collaborate with the internal team, communicate design ideas and share project details with other members of the team.
·To liaise regularly with the Directors to review labour forecasting and resource requirements across the company.
·To take initiative in creating and maintaining positive external relationships and seeking new business.

Requirements:

·Minimum of 10 years of experience in building services consultancy and experience in a leadership role.
·Proven track record in leading mechanical engineering projects, particularly in the context of sustainable and low-energy solutions.
·Experience in managing junior engineers and delegating work
·Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent professional recognition
·Experience of managing project finances and managing resources.
·Business development skills and ability to attract repeat work.
·Awareness of environmental design and sustainability issues in construction.
