Job Description

Job Title: Associate Additive Manufacturing Engineer


Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Onsite). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.


Salary: £28,636+ depending on skills and experience



What you’ll be doing:



  • Operate additive manufacturing equipment, performing calibration and routine maintenance as necessary

  • Conduct post processing of additive manufactured parts ensuring quality standards are maintained

  • Follow production plans and schedules, ensuring that all required materials and resources are available

  • Monitor production processes, identifying and raising any issues that arise

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and take corrective action as needed under guidance from Additive Manufacturing Engineers

  • Ensure that all production activities are conducted in accordance with established quality and safety standards

  • Maintain accurate records of all production activities, including materials used, production quantities, and quality results etc

  • Maintain operational cleanliness of additive manufacturing space


Your skills and experiences:


Essential



  • Experience with various 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLS, SLA, etc.)

  • Strong focus on quality with the ability to follow standard operating procedures

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment


Desirable



  • Knowledge of material science and engineering principles

  • Previous experience of operating additive manufacturing equipment

  • Familiarity with CAD software and models

The Additive Manufacturing Team:


As an additive manufacturing technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining polymer additive manufacturing equipment, producing prints to support the business. The role covers most of the additive manufacturing workflow, from the initial setup and calibration of the printer to monitoring the printing process and performing post-printing tasks. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
