Associate & Managing Associate

• As part of our strategy of continued growth, we are looking for an Associate and Managing Associate to join the Leeds Corporate Finance team and help support the ever-growing roster of Finance clients.
• You will work closely with Andrew Fordham, the head of the Corporate Finance team in Leeds, acting for a wide variety of banks, financial institutions, lenders, sponsors, and corporate clients.
• Addleshaw Goddard's finance practice is known for its quality and breadth of expertise. As one of the most established multi-disciplinary teams among law firms, we give clients the confidence they need to succeed.

THE TEAM:

• Part of the Finance & Projects Group, our Corporate Finance team is a national team with significant resources across Leeds, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and overseas offices.
• The team acts for banks, financial institutions, and corporate and property clients on financing transactions.
• Our finance practice is diverse, covering the full product range of our largest lender clients. We seek an Associate and Managing Associate to work on various financing matters, including leveraged finance, real estate finance, corporate debt, infrastructure, and asset-based lending.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE ROLE:

• You will advise and serve as the core panel for all UK clearing banks, gaining exposure to large, high-profile transactions locally, nationally, and internationally.
• You will assist corporate borrowers on high-value, complex transactions.
• You will work closely with clients to maintain and develop relationships, providing timely, high-quality advice and managing expectations.
• This team offers significant responsibility within a supportive environment, allowing you to take a leading role on most matters.
• Continuous development is encouraged through formal training, mentoring, coaching, and leadership programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• At least 2 years PQE+ in Finance, Real Estate Finance, Acquisition/Leveraged Finance, or Asset-Based Lending.
• Enthusiastic, resilient, and ambitious with a solutions-oriented approach.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• Consultative, thorough, and detail-oriented approach.
• Efficient diary and task management skills.
• Confidence in drafting clear, effective legal documents.
• Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure.
