Overview
As an Associate Maintenance Area Leader, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing team members within the Maintenance Department. Reporting to the Maintenance Area Leader, you will oversee and direct maintenance activities at the Ripon Plant. Your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day operations to meet production requirements and ensuring the success of your team. The areas under your supervision will include small chassis assembly, large chassis assembly, finishing processes such as paint and porcelain, metal fabrication, press operations, CNC machining, and welding.

Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment for all team members by adhering to safe work practices and complying with all corporate policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Ensure that team members are properly trained in safety standards, technical competencies, and the interpersonal skills required to perform their duties effectively.
- Lead a team of Group Leaders/Supervisors across five shifts (24/7), delegating work and responsibilities while providing direction, support, and coaching.
- Uphold the core value of treating all team members with respect in every discussion, interaction, and decision.
- Empower every team member to contribute to continuous improvement, waste elimination, and the development of skills to enhance lean operations.
- Recruit maintenance personnel and actively engage in team development activities.
- Communicate directly with operations and support departments to coordinate preventive maintenance and corrective repair work.
- Maintain regular communication with all maintenance team members, both individually and as a group, to ensure strong two-way dialogue regarding maintenance issues.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for team members based on job descriptions to assess competency, knowledge, and contributions of maintenance technicians.
- Assist the Maintenance Area Leader and Planners in managing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders, spare parts, and the maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Continuously review the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, address and resolve problems promptly, and identify opportunities for improvement by utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles and Root Cause Analysis.
- Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations to enhance plant operations and resolve maintenance-related problems and inefficiencies.
- Track, analyze, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, asset utilization, maintenance costs, preventive maintenance compliance, and schedule compliance.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience/Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Business Management is required.
- At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a skilled trade or engineering position, with 2 or more years in a supervisory or team leader role.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facilities equipment, along with the ability to fluently read and understand technical prints in all areas.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and the functionality of equipment within those processes.
- CMRP certification is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using standard Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency in using and administering a CMMS.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively.
Special qualifications: Ability to supervise a variety of team member actions and direct a technical work force to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe, clean and orderly manner. Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules. Must be the driver of new ideas and adaptable to changing technology.

Physical Requirements:
- Stooping, bending, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity and able to lift to 50 lbs. without assistance.
