Join our quest for excellence as an Associate Lecturer for Bath Business School. Use your experience in HE teaching and assessment to provide quality assurance oversight of our partnership programmes, primarily through module moderation and other associated activities.

Requirements: You will need to be a resident of the UK; otherwise, the roles are entirely virtual.

About the Role

Bath Spa University has recently been awarded Social Inclusion University of the Year. Our programmes are now delivered across the UK and internationally through educational partnerships. As these programmes are delivered by partners, they require different oversight compared to those delivered directly by us. You will work with our Partnership Leader at Bath Business School and Link Tutors to uphold our quality standards. The programmes include foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels in business, management, construction management, health, and social care management. We are interested in candidates with experience in lecturing, marking, and assessment in these or related disciplines within higher education.

Oversight duties include applying our Assessment and Feedback policy through module moderation and other quality assurance activities, such as monitoring partners' VLEs to ensure compliance with standards and consistency in course material interpretation.

It is essential to stay current with the latest teaching standards. You will also have opportunities to participate in departmental activities and collaborate with colleagues across the School.

About You

  • In-depth Subject Knowledge: Strong understanding of contemporary management theories, practices, emerging trends, and/or related fields like construction management and health and social care management, essential for quality assurance.
  • Understanding of Quality Standards: Experience in lecturing, marking, and assessment in relevant subjects, with thorough knowledge of quality standards at appropriate academic levels.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders involved in quality assurance, including external partners and internal staff.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility in teaching methods and technologies; experience with virtual learning environments.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within a small team.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Information

£19.70 per hour (a multiplier of 2.5 may be applied depending on the work offered).

Remote Working

Applicants must reside in the UK; applications from outside the UK will be rejected. The role involves ongoing interviews, and the position will close once all roles are filled.
