As Associate Lecturer you will teach:
As part of the School of Psychological Sciences, your role will be to deliver teaching to Birkbeck students, in order to enable them tocomplete their studies successfully, and to undertake all related course administrative duties as required.
As Associate Lecturer your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of the Perception and Attention module, which is a Level 5 compulsory module of our BPS-accredited BSc Psychology programme.
The general aim of the module is to provide an introduction to perceptual, attentional, and motor processes, blending classical and contemporary approaches with a strong focus of the methods and results of cognitiveneuroscience and neuropsychology.
Another goal is to identify key theoretical issues and methodological contributions in perception and attention research, and to demonstrate their scope for the application of knowledge about perceptual and attentional processes to other areas of cognitive psychology and neuroscience.
You will have experience of lecturing to groups of up to around 50 students and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).Comprehensive materials for all lectures will be provided.

Salary:
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate£68.13 per hourinclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
