OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION

  • Japanese Customer Market Group drives to identify new FX business opportunities and provide solution to Japanese Corporate clients with relationship manager in London branch
  • As London being a head of FX Japanese Corporate in EMEA, team also supports the business activities in EMEA region
  • Collaboration with stakeholders with other regions, includes Japan HO, is essential to enhance FX business in EMEA

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Lead the development of FX business for Japanese corporates, mainly in UK, co-work with relationship manager
  • Act as support point of contact with corporate for all foreign exchange related topics, eventually leading to primary contact with portfolio of customers to manage
  • Act as administrative support for the Japanese Customer Marketing Group
  • Drawing on internal and external sources to expand, take proactive action to promote and position Bank FX capabilities within the context of the broader client relationship to maximize cross sell opportunities and ensure optimal delivery of the group’s products and services in the market place
  • Operate in line with regulatory constraints and internal rules, regulation and policies

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate directly with corporate clients to promote FX and derivative products in order to achieve quantitative and qualitative targets, both individual and at team level
  • Coordinate with internal departments and Bank’s relationship management team to maximize cross-sell opportunities on all facts of the clients’ cross border exposure
  • Generate and distribute market information relevant to our corporate clients activity and interests
  • Ensure successful collaboration within the Treasury Sales and Trading team obtaining personal and group targets
  • Administrative support
  • Assist EMEA offices in operational issues by acting as first point of contact for Treasury processes
  • Adhere to external regulatory frameworks and internal bank policy in respect to all processes and administration

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred:

  • Experience in FX or financial markets
  • Sales experience

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to promote a strong risk and compliance culture within the bank through exhibiting behaviours, competencies and capabilities expected of an FCA approved person
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of FCA Approved Persons regime. Principles and Code of Practice, and of the expectation of an approved person as well as sound general understanding of relevant regulatory requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills, emphasis on teamwork
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal)

Education / Qualifications:

  • Degree educated in a technical/ numerate field ideally and/or equivalent level of relevant experience.
