QinetiQ Limited in Farnborough seeks an Associate IT Engineer to join a team delivering IT projects and programmes. The role covers design, implementation, integration and test of IT solutions on-site, with responsibilities ranging from hardware/software builds to customer-facing outputs.

The ideal candidate has a first degree in Science or Engineering and broad IT exposure, including Windows/Server infrastructure, networking, Linux and Hyper-V virtualization.

The Role

As an Associate IT Engineer, you will join a strong team of engineers providing technical support to IT projects and programmes working with project managers and technical leads to deliver IT solutions.

Day-to-day, you could be involved with all stages of the lifecycle of an IT project from conception through to in-service applying your skills in tasks such as Design, Implementation, Integration and Test and Evaluation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering Hardware/Software builds and Systems
• Installation and Integration
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
• Delivering outputs and providing pragmatic solutions which may include Technical presentations, Technical documentation, Test plans and reports, user guides and work instructions and Design or process documents
• Undertaking tasks with moderate guidance

Essential experience of the Associate IT Engineer:

Previous experience of working in an IT engineering role

The ability to work with a broad and comprehensive range of concepts and principles within the areas of ITBroad experience of Windows Client/Server Infrastructure, Networking, Virtualisation (Hyper-V) and Linux

Essential qualifications for the Associate IT Engineer:

A first degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent on the job experience

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site and is a fully on-site role.
