Position Overview

The European Investment Grade is seeking an Associate in London focusing on Financials in particular the insurance sector. The Associate will work on all stages of the investment underwriting and portfolio management process on a variety of opportunities spanning the investment grade funds strategy. The successful candidate will support the Principal on the existing coverage of corporates across liquid and illiquid mandates. The Associate will also be part of deal teams supporting the origination and underwrite of complex private transaction origination.

The Associate will be primarily responsible for modelling, quantitative financial analysis, industry research, and ongoing investment monitoring, serving as a key driver of the investment process in partnership with the broader deal team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play an active and integral role in the investment process, analyzing credit across multiple industries and sectors across the full spectrum of the Apollo Credit ecosystem.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a buy-side or sell-side financial markets role, with a preference for experience in M&A or equity research
  • Ideal candidate will have multi-year exposure to the insurance sector (incl. complex modelling/projections)
  • Master’s degree with an exceptional record of academic achievement; ideally with undergraduate degree in an actuarial science
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Robust interpersonal skills to support communication with external counterparties and management of internal stakeholders, both within Credit ecosystem and across broader investment platform
  • Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment; adept at managing competing priorities across multiple projects, transactions, and workstreams
