Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an Associate to lead our Highways & Active Travel team. You will guide multidisciplinary design teams, strengthen client relationships with Local Authorities, National Highways, Network Rail and developers, and drive fee proposals and major bids.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Chartered or Incorporated member of ICE/CIHT required.
• Significant experience delivering highways, active travel and public realm projects for Local Authority clients.
• Strong commercial awareness including fee proposals, project financial management and work winning.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Experience with Road Safety Audits.

Responsibilities

• Take a leadership role within the Newcastle Highways and Active Travel team.
• Develop and maintain client relationships across Local Authorities, as well as National Highways, Network Rail, Combined Authorities, Developers and/or major Contractors.
• Identify and secure opportunities for business growth including leading fee proposals and contribute to major bids and framework opportunities.

• Promote collaboration across delivery teams.
• Train and mentor staff including graduates and apprentices.
