Job description

Access talent group have been approached by a leading British Environmental, Engineering and Technical Services group who are looking to expand their Geotechnical Engineering team in Manchester and Birmingham. Our client is a wildly expanding group that comprises of many brands and specialisations, employing more than 10,000 people across their global group, with a vision to quadruple that over the next decade. Due to a series of newly awarded projects, our client is looking for an Associate level Geotechnical Engineer to sit at the towards the top of the tree.

In this role as an Associate Geotechnical Engineer, you will be expected to contribute heavily towards the consultancy and design services our client provides to a wide range of external clients including construction contractors, house-builders, oil companies, local authorities and more. As you would be joining in a very senior position, you would also be expected to support more junior staff with their projects and progress, acting as a technical authority for your less experienced colleagues. Associate Engineers are also still very hands on when with the design or investigation process, so your time will be split between mentoring the engineers of tomorrow and completing the projects of today.

To qualify for this role you must have:

  • 10+ years’ experience as a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist
  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • The ability to work in the Manchester or Birmingham area
  • Experience mentoring junior staff
  • Achieved or working towards Chartership
