Job description

My client, a market-leading, innovative consultancy based in the heart of Bristol, is searching for an Associate Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to manage and lead their Water Team in Bristol. Hybrid working is available.

Candidate Requirements
  1. Strong academic background in a relevant discipline.
  2. Achieved or near Chartered status.
  3. Extensive experience with UK-based consultancies in flood risk, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation, drainage, or river engineering.
  4. Drive and determination to develop new business opportunities, with experience managing projects, promoting services, and mentoring team members.
Role Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of engineers, managing projects and mentoring staff.
  2. Check, complete, and amend technical work in flood risk, drainage, hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation, and river restoration schemes across the UK.
  3. Support the technical team and coordinate project updates with clients.
  4. Oversee projects including:
    • Flood alleviation schemes
    • River restoration and habitat management
    • Pollution incidents and nutrient neutrality
    • Drainage strategies and designs
    • Hydrological and hydraulic modelling
    • Bid proposals and tenders
    • Aviation and renewable energy projects
