This is an opportunity for an Associate Fire Engineer to join our thriving team and develop the South-East region based out of our London office. The Team

Our Fire Engineering team is one of the UK’s largest within a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy. It’s growing reputation for quality and responsiveness has resulted in exceptional growth, and the group is now represented in all regional capitals within England, Scotland, and Wales. You will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines within the London and South East region and have an existing project portfolio including high-profile projects with regional, national, and international clients.

The Team Provides The Following Services To Clients
  • Advisement on applicable codes, standards, and guidance
  • Fire engineering design and analysis
  • Fire strategy development
  • Advisement on regulatory code compliance
  • Means of escape design and analysis
  • Evacuation analysis and pedestrian flow modelling
  • Structural fire protection design and analysis
  • Structural optimization analysis
  • Fire impact analysis
  • External fire spread analysis
  • Smoke control design and analysis
  • Computational Fluid Dynamic Analysis
  • Design and specification of fire protection systems
  • Construction phase consultation service
  • Third-party peer review
Post Occupation Services
  • Fire management plan development
  • Fire evacuation plan development
  • Fire risk assessment

As an Associate Fire Engineer, you will manage fire engineering projects, support the Director of Fire Engineering, lead a team of up to ten, and develop new business opportunities.

Your Role Will Include
  • Leading a team delivering Fire Engineering design on multiple projects
  • Managing project timelines and quality
  • Providing strategic input at early design stages
  • Contributing to fee proposals and reviewing technical documents
  • Ensuring team well-being and project delivery within scope and deadlines
Requirements
  • BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng or equivalent
  • Affiliated with IFE or equivalent, with chartership in progress or achieved
  • Proven experience managing a project portfolio as a Senior/Principal Engineer
  • Understanding of planning processes, Building Safety Act, and related regulations
  • Knowledge of fire safety guidance and codes such as BS standards, Fire Safety Order 2005, NFCC recommendations, PAS 9980, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, develop business, and lead teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
