PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • We are looking for a financial regulation Associate to join the London Team, working with our UK and international clients and partners.
  • You will be part of a team of specialists advising on prudential regulation for banks, building societies, investment firms, and financial market infrastructure.

THE TEAM

Addleshaw Goddard's Financial Regulation Team is one of the largest in the UK, ranked Tier 1. It comprises lawyers and compliance professionals across Leeds, London, and Scotland, led by Rosanna Bryant and 9 other Partners. The team is recognized for its client focus and pragmatic approach, working collaboratively across the AG network.

The team advises on prudential regulation, supporting clients in meeting regulatory requirements related to capital, liquidity, operational resilience, recovery planning, governance, digital assets, and more. They also provide advice on markets, clearing, settlement, and compliance programs.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE

This position is ideal for a committed lawyer aiming to develop expertise in prudential regulation, participate in business development, and grow within a supportive team. Responsibilities include managing client matters, supporting Partners, and engaging in client secondments and international collaboration.

You will:

  • Support clients' prudential regulatory compliance.
  • Provide structuring advice and support regulatory processes for transactions.
  • Assist clients in understanding UK and EU regulatory divergence.
  • Help assess legislative impacts and advise on implementation and lobbying strategies.
  • Interpret legal requirements, including Basel standards.
  • Advise on engagement with UK regulators.
