Associate Field Service Engineer - EML

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work of low to medium complexity according to work instructions, ABB standards, quality, and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality service to satisfy customers, demonstrating a sense of urgency and care. The work model is onsite in the UK Midlands, with travel to customer sites and our Leeds office. You will support the Emergency Lighting Business within ABB's Smart Buildings division, primarily in the UK and Ireland, occasionally abroad. Main stakeholders include external customers, local sales, and manufacturing units. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Performing commissioning, replacement, preventive, and corrective maintenance of emergency lighting and Central Battery systems.
  2. Collaborating with customers on-site to identify technical issues and opportunities for operational improvements.
  3. Ensuring availability and quality of materials, parts, and equipment for service activities, and following up on administrative reports.
  4. Executing work with a first-time right approach, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  5. Preparing documents and reports for customer signatures.

You will work closely with a motivated EML Service team, manufacturing support, and local sales representatives.

Qualifications for the role
  • Skilled in Electrical Engineering, with some field experience in Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience with Emergency Lighting and Central Battery Systems.
  • Familiarity with IoT, Building Management Systems, KNX/DALI, or willingness to learn.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams.
  • Passionate about QHSE and safety-first approach.
  • Fluent in English, with availability for frequent travel (90%).
  • Valid UK driving license.
