Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work of low to medium complexity according to work instructions, ABB standards, quality, and safety guidelines. You will deliver quality service to satisfy customers and demonstrate expertise with a sense of urgency and care. The role is onsite in the UK Midlands, with travel to customer sites and the ABB Leeds office. You will contribute to the Emergency Lighting Business within ABB’s Smart Buildings division, mainly in the UK and Ireland, occasionally abroad. Main stakeholders include external customers, local sales, and manufacturing units. Responsibilities include commissioning, maintenance of emergency lighting and Central Battery systems, troubleshooting, preparing materials, and ensuring timely and quality job completion. You will work closely with support teams and sales representatives.

Qualifications for the role
  • Skilled in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with field experience.
  • Experience with Emergency Lighting and Central Battery Systems.
  • Familiarity with IoT, Building Management Systems, KNX/DALI, or willingness to learn.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams.
  • Committed to QHSE and safety-first approach.
  • Fluent in English, with willingness to travel (90%).
  • Valid UK driving license.
