Apollo’s growing European Origination team is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate to support various aspects of origination, coverage, and the investment process. As a main point-of-contact for key financial sponsors, the Associate will work closely with senior coverage officers to build and maintain strong relationships with Apollo’s accounts. The Associate will also be responsible for supporting transactions and managing ad hoc projects, including preparing pitch materials, creating presentations, and responding to investor requests.

Primary Responsibilities

Partner with senior members of the Origination team to drive holistic coverage of key financial sponsor relationships

Involved in all stages of the investment or transactions process across a variety of different industries and products

Develop deep familiarity with key internal stakeholders, as well as Apollo products and processes

Responsible for quarterbacking execution, understanding investments or transactions, building relationships / liaising with accounts, and assisting on internal process for related investments or transactions

Support tracking of transactions, preparations of decks, actioning follow ups from meetings and mapping the market

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting and / or economics

3-6 years of experience in leverage finance, capital markets or investment banking

Demonstrated ability to evaluate a credit, conduct diligence, structure a financing, and negotiate terms

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required

Thrives in a team-oriented environment with a desire to leverage creative ideas and substantive plans to help grow the group

Positive attitude with an engaging and professional demeanor to be an exceptional representative for both Apollo clients and internal counterparts

Nimble and flexible with the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment
