BlackRock is a top asset management firm offering global investment, risk management, and advisory services. We provide solutions through mutual funds, iShares ETFs, separate accounts, and alternative vehicles.

The GPS team manages product strategy, development, and range for EMEA pooled funds, driving business strategy, innovation, and commercialization across Active, iShares, and Private Markets. With over 1500 funds in 9 countries, our goal is to align commercial priorities with distribution teams and advise on investment strategies, vehicle types, and regulatory regimes for optimal client outcomes.

Within GPS, sub-teams handle product development, market analysis, fund documentation, and leading the Product Development Committee for new products and changes.

Job Purpose/Background:

The Product Development team focuses on excellence in product structuring, development, and governance. We are seeking an ETF Product Developer to lead product initiatives and support BlackRock's growth in the region. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading new product development and lifecycle events for EMEA ETFs.
  • Partnering with internal teams to implement product agendas and strategic priorities.
  • Developing proposals based on market research, customer needs, competition, and pricing.
  • Leading significant projects and platform initiatives.
  • Maximise resource efficiency by continuously identifying and addressing any gaps or inefficiencies in the product development process.
  • Acquire and maintain a detailed understanding of BlackRock's processes, operating environment, competitive landscape and investment products while communicating unique requirements of our funds to business partners.
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Previous relevant experience in investment management, specifically in ETF market.
  • Previous relevant experience of Product Development processes (i.e. internal governance, board governance and processes with local regulators).
  • Knowledge and strong understanding of asset management products and liquid asset classes.
  • Knowledge of relevant European regulations (i.e. Sustainable Financial Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), Consumer Duty etc) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to establish relationships and work with all levels of personnel within BlackRock globally.
  • Organised, precise, and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritise effectively, multi-task quickly, and efficiently adapt to new situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong, proven project management skills.
  • Experience of presenting to senior external and internal audiences preferred.
