You will be experienced and knowledgeable in current practices and standards for geotechnical ground investigation and interpretation. You should be keen to develop new and existing clients, with some experience in business development preferred.

Knowledge of contaminated land assessment is desirable. You should be self-driven and ideally a Chartered Geologist or Chartered Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Driving business development to secure new clients and nurture existing relationships.
  • Working closely with other disciplines and offices across the north and Midlands to develop client engagement plans and deliver projects.
  • Preparing bids and proposals.
  • Project and financial management.
  • Leading the design and oversight of ground investigations.

  • Reviewing contaminated land assessments and remediation strategies (if experienced).
  • Line management, mentoring, and training junior team members.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • A relevant degree, e.g., geology or engineering geology.
  • Chartered membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Detailed knowledge of market conditions, opportunities, competition, and client base in the Midlands.
  • Substantial experience in engineering geology/geotechnical assessment, from desktop review to interpretation, including slope stability, foundation recommendations, and dewatering.
  • Experience in managing and supervising ground investigations.
  • Experience in contaminated land assessment and remediation (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full IT literacy.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental management related to ground investigation.
