Job Description:

The Position

Join a globally recognized professional services firm as an Associate Electrical Engineer. You will work across sectors such as transportation, infrastructure, environment, building, power, energy, water, and mining.

You will take a leading role in prestigious projects within a team of 10 engineers, part of a larger group of 35 engineers across Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health specializations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meet the requirements for an Associate Electrical Engineer and have a proven track record in project delivery.
  • Provide design and technical advice within a multidisciplinary team, acting as a project manager.
  • Supervise detailed design completion and oversee the work of others.
  • Assess project feasibility and lead feasibility studies.
  • Produce detailed and performance specifications for projects.
  • Serve as the key client contact and ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations and KPIs.
  • Work under client direction, interpreting project needs to ensure full delivery.
  • Maintain security clearance (BPSS minimum).
  • Manage junior staff development and line management.
  • Coordinate team resources and hold regular team meetings on project and team issues.

Electrical Skills

  • Low voltage distribution systems
  • Cable calculations (ElectricalOM, Amtech, or manual)
  • Lighting calculations (software and manual)
  • Energy lighting, small power, fire detection & alarm, intruder detection, access control & security systems, disabled call systems, data cabling, lightning protection
