Associate Electrical Engineer

Buro Happold is recruiting for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Building Environments team in Manchester.

This role is suited to a candidate with a Buildings background seeking industry-leading design opportunities within a vibrant multidisciplinary practice.

We support hybrid working; however, candidates are expected to travel to our Manchester office several days a week.

The role

The successful candidate may work as an electrical designer in a large project team or as a project engineer on smaller schemes. Projects include Manchester Science Park, Space Studios, and a new development in Liverpool.

Key Duties:

• Lead the electrical team and take on project leadership roles as needed.
• Communicate directly with clients, offer innovative solutions, and manage expectations.
• Develop technical and financial proposals.
• Manage workload of engineers and technicians.
• Prepare technical specifications.
• Monitor project financial performance and manage administrative systems.

Your Skills and Experience

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Extensive electrical design experience in an MEP consultancy, including project leadership.
• Diverse sector experience, preferably with large-scale projects.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.
• Professional registration (CIBSE, IET, etc.).
• Good understanding of other design disciplines.
• Proficiency in Revit or willingness to learn.
