Job summary

Blackadders LLP is seeking an experienced Associate in Employment Law to join our team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. You will manage your own caseload and provide practical, commercially focused advice to a varied client base.

You will work on both contentious and non-contentious matters, contribute to the growth of the team, and deliver training and updates to clients as part of the practice’s development.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with strong employment law experience.
• Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Ability to manage own caseload and work with clients directly.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support clients on a broad range of employment matters.
• Tribunal work including drafting ET3s and appearances at hearings.
• Drafting and reviewing contracts, policies and procedures; settlement agreements.
• Provide HR and employee relations guidance to clients.
• Handle employment aspects of corporate transactions and deliver updates to clients.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Associate (minimum 4+ years PQE) to join our Employment Law team in either Edinbugh or Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident managing their own caseload and providing practical, commercially focused advice to a varied client base.

You will work closely with clients on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, while also playing an important role in the continued development of the team.

The role

You will advise and support clients across a broad range of employment law matters, including:

• Tribunal work including drafting ET3s and appearing in Hearings
• Advising on day-to-day HR and employee relations advice
• Drafting and reviewing contracts, policies and procedures
• Settlement agreements
• Employment aspects of corporate transactions
• Delivering training and updates to clients

About you

We are looking for a qualified solicitor with strong employment law experience who is comfortable taking responsibility for their own caseload.

You will be:

• Confident in dealing directly with clients and providing clear, practical advice
• Experienced in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
• Commercially aware with excellent communication skills
• Organised and able to manage competing priorities
• Collaborative, approachable and keen to contribute to the wider team
• Interested in developing client relationships and supporting the growth of the practice
