Job summary

Origin Environmental is seeking an Associate Ecologist to lead and deliver ecological projects, provide technical and commercial leadership, and mentor junior staff. The role involves managing client relationships, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the growth of the ecology team.

You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, engaging with regulators and clients to deliver high-quality outputs across sectors.

KeyRequirements:

• FullMemberofCIEEM(MCIEEM)oranequivalentcharteredprofessionalbody.
• CharteredStatuseitherCEnvorCEco.
• DegreeinEcology,BiologicalSciences,EnvironmentalStudiesorarelateddiscipline.
• Demonstrableecologicalconsultancyexperienceacrossarangeofsectorsandprojectscales.
• Demonstrablecommercialexperienceineitherworkwinningorprojectdelivery.
• Demonstrableclientrelationshipmanagementexperience.
• Significantconsultancyexperience.
• Liaisingwithstakeholdersincludingclients,planningauthorities,andconservationbodies.
• Demonstrableabilitytoprovideclear,succinctandrobusttechnicalreports,includingPreliminaryEcologicalAppraisals,andprotectedspeciessurveys.
• Thoroughknowledgeofwildlifelegislationandtheplanningsystemleadingtoconfidenceinprovidingtechnicaladvicetoclients.
• Fullrangeofsurveyskillsincludinghabitatsurveysandprotectedspeciessurveys
• BNGexperience
• Attentiontodetailandtheabilitytodelivercontractsontimeandtobudget
• Aclient-focusedapproachwherethecommercialelementofeachprojectcanbeunderstoodandappreciated

Candidatesmustbeabletodemonstrateauthoritativeknowledgeinthefollowingareas:
