Job summary

Cencora is seeking a professional LGV Driver (Class C & C+E) to join the Cross Dock Centre in Plymouth. You will deliver orders across the South of England, ensuring safety, compliance and on-time performance.

The role requires a valid HGV licence, Driver CPC, Tachograph Card and experience with rigid and articulated vehicles, plus knowledge of drivers' hours regulations. Ongoing training and development available.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class C or C+E licence.
• Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving commercial vehicles, including rigid and articulated.
• Good knowledge of UK road network.
• Strong understanding of drivers' hours regulations and Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders according to a scheduled plan.
• Operate LGV vehicles safely and legally.

Summary of Role

We are looking for a professional and safety-focused LGV Driver (Class C & C+E) to join our Cross Dock Centre team in Plymouth. You will play a key role in delivering customer orders across the South of England, ensuring products are transported safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders accurately and consistently to a scheduled delivery plan.
• Operate LGV vehicles safely and in compliance with all road transport legislation.
• Ensure vehicle operations comply with drivers' hours regulations and company policies.
• Carry out pre-use vehicle checks and report any defects or concerns.
• Use appropriate equipment and safe handling techniques when loading and unloading goods.
• Drive in a fuel-efficient manner while maintaining delivery schedules.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve operational objectives and performance targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and procedures.

Skills and Knowledge

• Valid HGV Class C or C+E driving licence.
• Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles, including rigid and articulated vehicles.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
• Strong understanding of drivers' hours regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Knowledge of tachograph operation and manual entries.
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and delivery schedules accurately.
• Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

• Experience working within a distribution, logistics, or cross-dock environment.
• Familiarity with vehicle telematics and driver performance systems such as Microlise.
• Experience delivering to multiple customer locations on planned routes.
• Understanding of transport compliance and fleet safety standards.
• Ability to identify and support process improvements.
• Experience working to operational KPIs and service targets.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including overtime when required.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• Less than 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, courier operations, delivery services, or a related field required.
• Certification in dangerous goods awareness, licensure in operation of the applicable vehicle class, cold chain handling, or equivalent required.
