Job description

Role Description

Our well-established Dispute Resolution department are looking for an experienced Associate solicitor with 2-6 years PQE to join their team. The team is led by Lawrence Kelly, one of the founders of the firm. The successful candidate will report into Dominic Holden, Director.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day conduct of various high value commercial disputes and will work closely with various partners in the Dispute Resolution team. You will manage a varied caseload of commercial claims and will have a direct focus on working within the firm’s growing technology disputes team led by Matt Green, Head of Blockchain and Digital Assets and Technology Disputes and director Asim Arshad, who specialises in the Cryptoasset sector. The Technology Dispute Resolution team specialises in; crypto currency recovery, data, IP, hacking (breach of privacy) and fraud claims.

The role will include, but not be limited to, the following tasks:

  • Handling a varied caseload of commercial disputes, whilst working closely with the technology disputes team.
  • Preparing legal documents such as pleadings, witness statements and correspondence.
  • Maintaining regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of case progress and advising them on their options.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for resolving disputes, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Collaborating with directors, senior associates and other members of the team, to provide the best possible service to our clients.
  • Contributing to business development activities and attending networking events.
  • Staying up to date on relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
  • Assessing the merits of each case and determining the appropriate resolution strategy.

Qualifications

  • A qualified Dispute Resolution Associate with at least two years PQE who has experience working within a similar role.
  • Experience of dealing with claims involving crypto currency and fraud is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical skills and able to handle a caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Interest in business development and building client relationships.
  • Ability to handle challenging clients and tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Willingness to collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks running in parallel with tight deadlines.
