This position reports to the Global Head of Treasury Regulation, Strategy and Control (TRSC), who oversees understanding and analyzing regulatory initiatives relevant to Treasury, as well as strategic projects, governance, and controls to support Treasury’s mission of protecting, enhancing, and optimizing financial resources.

The role requires applying relevant regulatory and Treasury knowledge to identify potential implications of prudential, markets, conduct, and other regulatory developments on Treasury. The role involves understanding and analyzing regulatory impacts, collaborating with Treasury colleagues and other areas such as regulatory policy and public affairs.

In this role, you will:
  • Work with Treasury teams across verticals including Capital, Recovery & Resolution Planning, Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, Liquidity, and Markets Treasury to identify, understand, and analyze regulatory developments, integrating findings into transformation and change programs.
  • Understand and communicate the objectives and implications of regulations for various Treasury areas, considering commercial and practical impacts across regions.
  • Apply technical knowledge to help Treasury and the business navigate risks and opportunities from regulatory consultations, proposals, and developments from authorities, regulators, and legislators. Lead impact analysis when appropriate.
  • Leverage experience with prudential and conduct regulatory frameworks to contribute to key team deliverables.
  • Collaborate with horizon scanning and regulatory impact analysis teams within the bank to perform comprehensive Treasury risk assessments, considering risk and commercial perspectives.
  • Maintain understanding of supervisory relationships within Treasury and support management of interactions with regulators.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should meet the following:

  • Professional qualification and experience in Treasury or related industries, preferably within HSBC or a relevant market competitor.
  • Experience across Treasury verticals such as Capital, Recovery & Resolution Planning, Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity, and Markets Treasury.
  • Deep understanding of prudential regulatory frameworks, rules, and requirements applicable to Treasury activities.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to diverse stakeholders across geographies and disciplines.
  • Experience working with regulatory supervisory teams.
  • Commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive cultures, reflecting our stakeholder community.
