About This Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to be a key player in growing and deepening our Transaction Banking relationships with large corporate clients. You’ll work with clients across Healthcare, Technology, Media, Telecoms and Leisure (HTL) sectors and will join a high performing team with strong growth ambitions. You'll work in partnership with various teams across the Corporate & Institutional Banking division to deliver for our clients and the Bank.

As an Associate Director within the team, you’ll be at the forefront of growing client relationships, with a specific focus on delivering our Transaction Banking growth strategy into 2025 and beyond. This includes supporting clients with their Cash Management and Payments, TFX, Liabilities, Trade Finance, Card Acquiring and Card Issuance needs.

You’ll be responsible for actively managing and pursuing transaction banking revenue through new-to-bank relationships and by deepening existing client relationships using a consultative, client-led approach to help clients solve their challenges and achieve their priorities, drawing on the latest in innovation and the significant investments Lloyds Banking Group has made in its transaction banking suite.

This role requires you to bring product knowledge, market awareness, and relationship management experience to deliver the best possible solutions to our clients.

A day in the role:

  • Originate new business through proactive outreach as well as introductions from new client onboards / funding.

  • Lead established Transaction Banking relationships with clients to increase wallet share and mitigate attrition risk.

  • Responsible for contributing to the delivery of NII and OOI targets for your client portfolio, actively provide inputs on meetings, deals and other activity for senior management reporting and other team updates.

  • Actively drive cross-sell opportunities by introducing other product partners into the conversation with clients.

  • Lead pricing discussions and align with internal teams and with clients on transaction banking products

  • Ownership and accountability as the lead for driving client opportunities and work with the Bidding team to respond to client RFI/ RFPs.

  • Ensure the CM&P and TFX opportunities that contribute to loan and trade deal returns stay on track. Call attention to situations where the probability of these opportunities decreases due to lost RfP's or competitive awards.

  • Drive execution of the sales strategy for your client portfolio and support the Director of the HTL sector to drive the wider sector strategy including strategic liquidity conversations, TFX, new operational banking mandates, new revenue / leakage prevention programmes and other initiatives.

  • Mentor and develop the Associates within the Transaction Banking team.

  • Capture client testimonials and stories as re-usable client case studies to socialise success internally and with client permission for client use.

  • Actively feedback observations around competitor approaches and capabilities to the product teams. Understand the external market and competitor capabilities, enabling LBG to consider gaps in proposition with the potential to unlock growth.

What You’ll Need

  • Solid understanding of cash management and payments solutions.

  • Extensive experience building relationships with large corporate clients and a proven ability to identify and deliver new business opportunities in corporate banking.

  • Strong product knowledge across the broad suite of Transaction Banking solutions.

  • Commercial acuity and demonstrated experience of adopting a consultative, client-led approach. Strong collaboration & interpersonal skills.

  • Strong sales execution, including consistent client engagement, CRM updates, and proactive pipeline and activity reporting.

  • Market awareness and a passion for delivering innovative client solutions.
