Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is seeking an Associate Director, Town Planning in London to lead projects and mentor a growing planning team. The role focuses on delivering residential and commercial planning success, with a pro-active team orientation and cross-selling opportunities within a multi-disciplinary firm.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in planning, MRTPI or equivalent, and a proven ability to win work and manage complex development schemes. Competitive salary and training are offered.

Responsibilities

• Leading on projects, delegating and taking on leadership responsibilities.
• Maintaining relationships with clients and providing accurate advice.
• Managing pre-apps and planning applications through the development process.
• Communicating and negotiating with clients, stakeholders and local authorities regularly.
• Business development and growing your own client base.
• Attending meetings for Planning Committee and consultations representing the Company and clients.
• Mentoring and helping to manage junior team members.

You will be involved in (among other responsibilities):

• Leading on projects, assisting in delegating and starting to take on leadership role.
• Continuing to maintain relationships with clients in providing accurate advice and communicating effectively.
• Dealing with pre-apps and manage planning applications through the development process.
• Communicating and negotiating with clients, stakeholders and local regularly.
• Business development and working up your own client base, or bringing your own.
• Attending meetings for Planning Committee, Consultations and similar events in representation of both the Company and clients through the planning process.
• Mentoring and helping to manage junior team members.

You will ideally:
