The Role
As an Associate Director of Highways Infrastructure, you will lead teams and manage high-profile infrastructure projects from feasibility to construction. Your expertise in commercial and financial management, stakeholder engagement, and technical leadership will be critical in ensuring successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, procurement, and construction stages of highways infrastructure projects.
- Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Oversee project budgets, contract negotiations (NEC, JCT), and risk assessments.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and contractors, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Contribute to business development, including bid writing and securing new contracts.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including CDM 2015.
What We’re Looking For
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) through ICE or equivalent (or working towards).
- BEng/BSc or MEng in Civil Engineering.
- Approximately 12+ years’ experience in highways engineering, with approximately 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including contract negotiation and budget control.
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and project delivery.
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting their professional development.
- Experience in both public and private sector projects.
- Business development and bid writing experience.
- ICE-registered mentor status.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Leeds city centre office – expected in-office presence at least 3 days per week.
- Travel to project sites and client meetings as required.
- Flexible and hybrid working options available.
