Job Description:

The Associate Director of Sustainable Procurement will lead teams and programs to help clients meet social and environmental targets, including orienting procurement operations towards net zero and better outcomes.

The hiring company is a leading UK consultancy. This role offers the opportunity to deliver end-to-end procurement services to major brands on exciting projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage sustainable procurement initiatives across multiple projects, improving environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
  • Lead project teams and contribute to global transformation programs.
  • Provide guidance and management to colleagues on client projects.
  • Enhance clients’ environmental performance and meet sustainability targets.
  • Develop sustainable procurement services and propositions.
  • Drive business generation in sustainable procurement.
  • Contribute to team and business targets.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Procurement consulting experience from client, contractor, or professional services firms.
  • Experience with ISO 20400 (desired but not essential).
  • Strong leadership in project delivery and transformation.
  • Experience developing client-facing propositions.
  • Knowledge of responsible sourcing, human rights, environment, health and safety, anti-bribery, and labor practices.
  • Understanding of ESG legislative and regulatory environments (desirable).
  • Experience engaging suppliers on sustainability.
  • Independent, confident, and autonomous working style.
  • Ability to mentor team members.
  • Capability to manage work, business development, and career growth activities.
  • Flexible approach to work.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Business Management, or related fields.
  • Willingness to work towards Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
