Job Description:

The Associate Director of Sustainable Procurement will lead teams and programs to help clients meet social and environmental targets. This involves guiding clients’ procurement operations across multiple projects towards achieving net zero and improved social and environmental outcomes. The successful candidate will impact large-scale flagship projects, managing a team of procurement and sustainability consultants. The employer encourages and supports obtaining MCIPS status and offers ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage sustainable procurement initiatives across various projects, enhancing environmental, social, and economic outcomes for clients.
  • Lead project teams and contribute to global transformation programs.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and challenge to colleagues on client projects.
  • Design and improve clients’ environmental performance to meet sustainability targets.
  • Develop sustainable procurement services and propositions.
  • Drive business development in sustainable procurement opportunities.
  • Contribute to team and business targets.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience implementing sustainable procurement strategies and research.
  • Procurement consulting experience from client, contractor, or professional services backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of ISO 20400 (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Experience developing client-facing propositions.
  • Understanding of ESG legislative and regulatory environments.
  • Experience engaging with suppliers on sustainability initiatives.
  • Autonomous, confident, and able to mentor others.
  • Ability to manage work, business development, and career activities.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Business Management, or similar.
  • Willingness to pursue or work towards Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
