The Opportunity

KPMG's Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for an Associate Director role. The role will focus on Deal Strategy within the Media industry as part of the wider Telecommunications-Media-Technology sector, but with scope to work on the wider range of services including Growth Strategy, Deal Strategy, Cost and Operational strategy (including Economic Profitability Analysis) and Enterprise-wide Transformation.

The Strategy & Performance Transformation team is part of KPMG's rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 150 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG's broad set of capabilities within our Deal Advisory business.

Responsibilities

To be an effective Associate Director within our Strategy & Performance Transformation, applicants will be expected to:

  • Take a leadership role with the team and to hold a high quality, credible reputation with clients and in the broader market - experience of a range of M&A related projects will be critical, e.g., Commercial Due Diligence, M&A Strategy, Value creation etc.
  • Design and run mid-sized to large projects and/or very large, complex workstreams
  • Act as primary client liaison on KPMG engagements and act as an 'ambassador' for the firm
  • Produce client-ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require minimal review
  • Develop solutions to complex problems and challenge the thinking of more senior colleagues and clients
  • Help design - and guide junior staff to - execute detailed financial/business models performing complex scenario and sensitivity analysis
  • Provide timely feedback and coaching to other team members
  • Identify go-to-market and marketing opportunities and assume day-to-day responsibility for taking these to clients
  • Maintain active contact with mid-level clients outside of engagement situations
  • Actively seek out leadership opportunities, take responsibility for internal processes, and act as a leader in the S&PT team, inspiring junior members
  • Show initiative to identify and drive thought leadership and knowledge management activities
  • Lead practice development activities to ensure successful delivery of initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to the firm's risk management frameworks

Your Experience

Successful applicants will demonstrate:

Work Experience:
  • Experience in a leading strategy consulting firm, Big 4, or corporate strategy/ development team
  • Strong understanding of the Media sector's value drivers and outlook
  • Experience leading mid-sized and large projects, including M&A transactions in Media
  • Proven ability to develop proposals, scopes, and pricing
  • Effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders
  • Leadership in building followership and business development
Technical Skills:
  • Strong academic record
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
