Job description

The Associate Director - Speciality Finance Portfolio Management will be the primary contact for non-bank specialist lending clients, covering sectors such as consumer finance, asset finance, SME corporate finance, and property finance. The team manages these relationships and monitors risks for the Bank.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing customer relationships and monitoring facility compliance with lending covenants and terms.
  2. Handling the annual review and credit process, including ad-hoc amendments, increases, and covenant restructures, while identifying new business opportunities within existing clients.
  3. Proposing, negotiating, and executing facility amendments, covenant waivers/resets, and in-life management activities.
  4. Managing the end-to-end credit process, including negotiations, credit papers, presentation to Credit Committee, and legal completion.
  5. Assessing market, macroeconomic, and regulatory impacts on the portfolio, taking appropriate actions, and updating Risk Committees on early warning signs and watchlist clients.
  6. Implementing new strategic initiatives for Structured Finance, ensuring compliance, regulatory, and risk management oversight, and participating in industry events.
  7. Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The Person

  • Proven experience in credit risk, portfolio management, transaction restructuring, or related roles within banks, funds, advisory, or specialist finance sectors.
  • A quantitative degree, CFA, or similar qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of asset-based lending practices and familiarity with block discounting or revolving credit facilities.
  • Experience in structuring and executing funding facilities.
