WSP’s Ground & Water team are involved with many key projects of regional and national significance. We are growing our world class team to ensure we continue to deliver the high calibre of service and technical excellence that both we and our clients expect.

A little more about your role…
  1. Business Development: Engage with new and potential clients, both internal and external to WSP.
  2. Hazard Identification: Lead processes such as HAZOP and HAZID.
  3. Project Planning: Conduct optioneering and feasibility studies, decommissioning planning, and develop decommissioning flow diagrams.
  4. Scheduling: Manage task scheduling and sequencing.
  5. Dismantling: Plan and design dismantling and size reduction.
  6. Documentation: Prepare method statements, design risk assessments, tender documents, and technical responses for decommissioning works.
  7. Demolition Management: Oversee demolition in high-hazard environments.
  8. Data Analysis: Analyse data related to site closure, decommissioning, and demolition scenarios.
  9. Engineering Design: Produce engineering design work packages, including specifications, drawings, analysis, verification, or assessment.
  10. Compliance: Ensure legal and functional requirements are met, along with associated performance conditions, within agreed time, cost, and quality.
  11. Project Delivery: Deliver projects on time and within budget, including report preparation.
  12. Safety Protocols: Actively participate in safety protocols and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  13. Travel: Flexibly work away from home at varied client facilities. Some international travel may be required.
Your Team…

The Site Closure, Demolition & Remediation Team deliver work as part of the broader WSP Ground & Water team, which undertakes planning, procurement and management of decommissioning, demolition and remediation projects for industrial, energy and development clients. Our projects are predominantly in the UK, however, the team are currently involved in an increasing number of international projects. The role will work within a small specialist team on a range of projects and will work closely with other WSP technical disciplines, including asbestos, structures and other environmental teams.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
  1. A degree-level qualification in a relevant field or industry
  2. Experience in petrochemical, oil, and gas environments.
  3. Direct experience in the management of demolition and/or remediation contractors
  4. Experience of demolition or remediation activities in high-hazard environments. Specific experience of either nuclear or petrochemical sites would be preferable
  5. Working knowledge of demolition code of practice and CDM Regulations
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  8. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting software
  9. Knowledge of UK CDM, Demolition code of practice, environmental regulations and guidelines
  10. Willingness to travel to project sites
