Job Description

You will be involved in delivering:

  • Expert Witness services, assisting our quantum experts in delivering reports for adjudication, litigation, and dispute resolution;
  • Recovery services, supporting our contract and commercial specialists in providing strategic advice to clients with distressed projects or programs.

Successful candidates will work in a team analyzing construction projects in the UK and internationally. We seek an ambitious, driven individual eager to join an experienced team of construction experts with a strong market presence.

We are seeking an Associate Director experienced in quantum matters or establishing themselves as an expert to support our leading teams. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop into a leading expert through our mentoring program, lead strategic objectives, and expand our market presence with direct links to UK leadership.

The work must meet high standards to withstand scrutiny. The candidate will:

  • Possess a forensic and exploratory mindset;
  • Have strong construction industry knowledge;
  • Understand construction contracts and law;
  • Value transparency and collaboration;
  • Be able to work independently and adapt to team methods.

While our UK team supports complex projects worldwide, most work can be delivered remotely. The role involves working from a local office to maintain team cohesion, with flexible working arrangements to meet client needs.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of relevant construction and engineering experience;
  • A construction-related degree and/or legal qualification;
  • Experience leading claims through supply chains with successful resolutions;
  • Ability to understand and articulate client requirements and outcomes;
  • Capacity to analyze project performance and identify root causes of distress;
  • Leadership in developing strategies to recover distressed projects or programs;
  • Effective stakeholder management at all levels;
  • Experience assessing project records to establish quantum;
  • Knowledge of relevant applications like BCIS, Cost-X, CEMAR;
  • Ability to analyze claims/disputes and provide strategic advice;
  • Support clients and legal teams in developing positions;
  • Experience drafting expert witness reports;
  • Stay updated on technical developments;
  • Provide guidance to team members;
  • Support client and consultant interfaces at all project stages;
  • Act as an industry ambassador for Turner & Townsend.
