Our client is seeking a Project Manager / Associate Director of Project Management for a position based in the Oxford / Swindon area. This role will lead the Oxford office and involves business development and work-winning activities. The position is based in the new Oxford Office.
Role and Requirements for the Senior Project Manager in Oxford / Swindon
- Chartered status is highly desirable; MCIOB qualification or equivalent (MRICS or MAPM) is preferred.
- Experience in business development and work-winning is desirable. Candidates with less experience but keen to develop these skills are also encouraged to apply.
- Desire to grow a team of project management and cost management professionals in the area.
- Proven experience in delivering program management across multiple projects.
- Ability to set project direction aligned with business goals, inspire teams, and drive performance.
- Deep understanding of construction methodologies, design coordination, procurement, and contract administration.
- Skills in budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and maximizing profitability while maintaining quality.
- Expertise in risk assessment and mitigation, resolving issues proactively.
- Proficient in managing various contract forms (NEC, JCT, FIDIC, etc.) ensuring commercial success.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage complex project timelines and ensure milestone achievement.
- Ensure projects comply with regulatory standards, health & safety requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Capable of leading through change, maintaining team focus and morale.
- Clear and concise communication skills for reporting progress, challenges, and strategies to leadership and clients.
- Leadership in providing project management services, including technical advice and pre- and post-contract management.
