We are seeking a high-caliber Associate Director for our Project & Programme Management Team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will join an established team of project management practitioners across Scotland.

You will lead the team, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality projects and technical excellence for clients across key sectors.

You should demonstrate a proven track record in leading and delivering effective project management services, preferably within Scotland and Northern Ireland. A commitment to continuous improvement and business development is essential.

Key Attributes:

  • Motivated and collaborative Project Management Practitioner with experience in delivering best practice methodologies on complex projects.
  • Recent client-facing consultancy experience in development, commercial property, or public sectors is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience acting as an NEC Project Manager is essential.
  • Ability to articulate construction industry knowledge and technical excellence to clients and colleagues.
  • Desire to develop client relationships and grow accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction projects through their entire lifecycle using best practices.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders in line with AtkinsRéalis values.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, ensuring service delivery and acting as a key stakeholder and account lead.
  • Oversee the commercial success of projects, managing accounts, governance, and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and policies.
  • Manage workload and provide guidance and leadership within the team.
  • Mentor junior team members and support their development.
  • Drive new business opportunities in collaboration with sector and account leads.
  • Prepare fee proposals and bid submissions.
  • Lead large, complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and technical matters relevant to the work.
  • Apply quality assurance and environmental management principles.
  • Prioritize personal safety and organizational values in interactions.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a construction-related discipline or equivalent.
  • Membership of a recognized professional institution (MRICS, MAPM, or equivalent).
  • Positive, collaborative, and innovative approach.
  • Experience leading project management services in a client-facing role.
  • Proven ability to build client relationships and networks.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering successful projects.
  • Sound technical knowledge of project management.
  • Experience with UK standard contracts (NEC, JCT) and procurement advice.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation in UK construction.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal development.
  • Valid UK driving license.
