Role Overview

The Associate Procurement Director will lead a skilled team of strategic procurement professionals. The company promotes a hybrid working model to support work/life balance.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to public and private sector clients.
  • Lead and manage end-to-end procurement services on major projects or programmes.
  • Support the development of procurement services.
  • Lead and develop a team to achieve successful client outcomes.
  • Manage client relationships, commissions, and deliverables.
  • Support business development and marketing efforts of the Contract Services team.
  • Lead bid preparations and proposal documentation, enhancing work-winning capabilities.
  • Contribute to team and business targets.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of regulated procurement, especially Public Contract Regulations 2015, with awareness of potential changes.
  • Experience leading strategic procurement projects for public and private clients.
  • Strong background in tender development, management, and negotiation.
  • Experience in client relationship management and people management.
  • Familiarity with various contract forms, especially NEC and JCT.
  • Cross-sector experience with a focus on public procurement is highly desirable.
  • Experience in defence, utilities, infrastructure (roads, rail), mining, oil & gas sectors.
  • Security clearance would be advantageous.
  • Ability to develop strategies and documentation compliant with public sector regulations.
  • Leadership skills to supervise and guide project delivery teams.
  • Ability to build strong client relationships and proactively address issues.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • A degree related to construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, law, or procurement is preferred.
  • MCIPS accreditation achieved or willingness to work towards it.
