Associate Director
Location: Birmingham

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a nationally respected consultancy with ambitious growth plans as they look to appoint an Associate Director for their Birmingham office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly capable planning professional to step into a senior leadership role and help shape the future of a thriving planning team.

The Role
This position offers the chance to lead high-profile planning projects, particularly in urban regeneration and large-scale sustainable urban extensions. Working closely with housebuilders, land promoters, and landowners, the successful Associate Director will play a pivotal role in business development and delivery across the Midlands and further afield.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading and delivering planning strategies across a wide range of developments

  • Identifying new opportunities and supporting client relationships at a strategic level

  • Collaborating with a growing multi-disciplinary team across the UK

  • Driving commercial success and contributing to the wider leadership of the planning team

  • Mentoring junior team members and fostering internal growth

Requirements:

  • RTPI qualified with a degree in Town Planning or a closely related field

  • Significant experience in a consultancy or private sector planning environment

  • A strong understanding of the UK planning system, policy, and application processes

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial skills

  • A track record in business development and project delivery
