Overview

Responsible for assisting the organizational leadership in providing direction and oversight for the Agency’s compliance and governance programs, policies, and practices to meet applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations while adhering to the Code of Ethics and Philosophy as adopted by the Board of Directors and the Compliance Committee.

Pay for this position: $89,293 / yr - $106,691 / yr

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Responsibilities
  • Work with business partners to develop, document, and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures that promote compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with the organization’s mission.
  • Lead the self-disclosure process by coordinating internal investigations, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring timely submission of accurate disclosures to relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Manage the Excluded Provider Monitoring Program to ensure routine screening and validation of employees, contractors, and vendors against federal and state exclusion databases. Investigate and resolve any identified issues in accordance with regulatory guidance.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal compliance inquiries. Provide accurate and timely guidance, interpretation, and recommendations to staff on compliance-related matters.
  • Plan and execute routine and risk-based compliance monitoring reviews across the organization. Analyze results, identify trends, and develop recommendations for corrective action plans and systemic improvements.
  • Prepare and distribute clear, timely, and actionable compliance reports to leadership, identifying key risks, trends, and compliance program performance indicators.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date compliance registers, documentation, and records in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational retention policies.
  • Work collaboratively across the Agency to embed compliance into day-to-day business activities and projects. Serve as a compliance resource and thought partner across departments.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, managing correspondence, follow-up, and preparation for external audits, site visits, and regulatory inquiries. Support the implementation of corrective actions and improvements in response to findings.
  • Organize and maintain compliance-related files for internal and external audits or examinations. Ensure readiness and availability of required documentation.
  • Assist with reviewing vendor and provider contracts for compliance provisions. Monitor contract compliance and participate in ongoing vendor oversight activities.
  • Support the overall compliance program through participation in special projects, risk assessments, training initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA in business administration or related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years in a compliance-related role, preferably within human services, healthcare, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Certification in healthcare or corporate compliance strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state regulatory guidance such as OMIG, OIG, and HIPAA strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting investigations and compliance reviews required.
  • Ability to build relationships, manage sensitive issues, and maintain confidentiality required.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, manage, and execute multiple tasks and projects required.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and data reporting tools required.
