Associate Director of Assurance - Efficiency & Transformation

Full Time, Permanent, Band 8D

The Associate Director of Assurance will play a critical role ensuring that Croydon delivers on efficiency and transformational plans. Supporting the Director of Transformation the post holder will work with the executive team, senior clinical and operational colleagues and corporate teams to ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of the Trusts
efficiency and transformation projects and programmes to focus on clinical and operational excellence in a way that maximises the engagement of individuals and clinical teams
across the Trust.

Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital.
CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough's only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team. Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Masters Level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in programme management
  • Qualified to PRINCE2 Practioner level
  • Qualified to MSP Practinioner Certification
  • Significant proven experience of delivering and mentoring others to successfully deliver projects using PRINCE2 and MSP methodologies
  • Significant proven experience in delivering change management within a Healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of health and care policy developments
  • Proficient in MS Office applications particularly Word, Powerpoint and Excel
Communication

Essential criteria
  • Strong ability to prepare and produce concise and insightful communications using highly complex or sensitive information for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the local health economy
  • Skills for managing relationships with a range of different stakeholders
Analytical

Essential criteria
  • Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands
  • Ability to analyse highly complex facts and situations
  • Ability to build and adapt excel based programme reporting tools
  • Ability to review and evaluate business cases and project initiation documents
Planning Skills

Essential criteria
  • Plans and organises a broad range of complex activities, formulating and adjusting plans to reflect changing circumstances
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight and often changing deadlines
  • Works with stakeholders to develop performance improvement plans and to develop plans for innovation and opening up the market
  • Inputs the strategic plans across NHS and within the specific teams
Management skills

Essential criteria
  • Skills for direct line management and job management
  • Skills for managing relationships with a range of different stakeholders
  • Skills for delivering results through managing others and using a range of levers in the absence of direct line management responsibility
Physical skills

Essential criteria
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced keyboard skills
Financial and Physical Resources

  • Previously responsible for budget, involved in a budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes
  • Previously responsible for oversight of delivery of large scales efficiency programme
