HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) provides comprehensive global, regional, and domestic fund services, including fund administration, global custody, and sub-custody settlement.

Effective management of Non-Financial Risk (NFR) is a top priority for MSS. The MSS Governance and Framework team, within the 1LOD Non-Financial Risk function, oversees and embeds the NFR Framework.

This role is within the Risk Framework and Governance team, focusing on delivering and embedding the Global Operational Resilience Programme.

The primary responsibilities involve supporting the Business in delivering and embedding operational resilience requirements defined under global regulation, especially in EMEA and the Americas.

The Business Analyst will ensure high-quality outputs by providing consultancy to business and IT teams, working with stakeholders to define Important Business Services, and assessing their resilience.

As a UK-based HSBC employee, you will have access to professional development, competitive pay, private healthcare, enhanced maternity and adoption pay, and a contributory pension scheme.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with MSS business lines to define the scope and timeline of programme deliveries related to operational resilience.
  • Lead change and implementation efforts with business leadership and teams.
  • Coordinate with front office stakeholders and infrastructure teams to deliver key resilience initiatives, including Value Stream Mapping, Impact Tolerance Statements, Scenario Testing, vulnerability management, and Self-Assessments.
  • Ensure the embedding of Group and MSS Transformation Strategy within programmes.
  • Provide status updates and manage delivery risks effectively.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues to minimize impact, escalating when necessary.

To succeed, you should have:
• An understanding of Non-Financial Risk, with experience in 1st and 2nd Line of Defence roles preferred.
• Knowledge of MSS products, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Project management skills, including managing workgroups and change initiatives.
• Stakeholder management experience across multiple functions, including Front Office, Product Control, Traded Risk, Compliance, and Audit.
• Strong communication skills across various channels (writing, presentations, workshops).

This role is based in Edinburgh.
