Matchtech seeks an Associate Director Mechanical Engineering to lead and direct multiphase design work in the Water sector. You will drive technical leadership, set briefs and scopes, and ensure project milestones are met across UK and international teams.

The role requires Chartered or Fellow status and a strong track record in water-related mechanical systems, with modern design standards and high-quality delivery at scale.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Fellow Mechanical Engineer with active professional registration.
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Extensive mechanical engineering experience in the Water Sector.

• Own and direct teams who undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
• Defining briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
• Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.

Your Purpose

• Own and direct teams who undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.

Experience/Qualifications

• Chartered or Fellow Mechanical Engineer.
• Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent
• Significant experience in Mechanical Engineering within the Water Sector
• Experience in owning design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
• Comprehensive knowledge in mechanical equipment, such as pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing plant as well as an deep understanding of current UK design standards and working practices.
